The devil's own mineral. Used against everything the devil sends.
Sulfur, also called Brimstone, is one of the oldest and most potent minerals in the African American Hoodoo tradition. Its sharp acrid smell announces its purpose before you even open the jar. Sulfur is worked for crossing enemies, banishing evil, clearing spaces of hostile spiritual energy, and creating conditions so inhospitable that nothing dark can remain.
Sprinkle it across an enemy's path. Add it to crossing and banishing workings. Burn a small amount on charcoal to fumigate and cleanse a space that has seen serious spiritual contamination. Line your entrance and exits including windows and balconies with it. Keep it in your arsenal because there are situations where nothing else will do.
Historical Context: Sulfur appears in African American Hoodoo documentation going back to the 19th century, referenced in the Federal Writers Project slave narratives and in the works of Harry Middleton Hyatt. One of the most consistently documented banishing and crossing minerals in Southern conjure. My Grandma's favorite go to.
Used For: Banishing. Crossing enemies. Clearing hostile spiritual energy. Enemy work. Space fumigation.
